Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Minnya collects when you use minnya.com, try.minnya.com and the Minnya app at app.minnya.com, including public Minnya chat pages, and what we do with it.
Who we are
Minnya is operated by [Company legal name], [registered address]. We are the controller of the personal information described here. Contact us about privacy at privacy@minnya.com.
Information we collect
- Your account: your name, email address, profile photo and sign-in details, and the workspace details you enter (workspace name, introduction, website, reply and chat guidance, public handle and insight preferences).
- Content you add: notes, web pages you link, documents you upload, audio and video you upload for transcription, and captions from YouTube videos you select. Audio and video files are deleted once they are transcribed; the transcript is kept.
- YouTube data, when you connect a channel: your channel’s ID and name, comments on your videos (including the commenter’s public display name, the comment text and when it was posted), video titles, your own replies, and the past replies you choose to import as voice examples. We store the access tokens Google gives us in encrypted form.
- Replies and voice: drafts, your edits, the exact text you approve, who approved it and when, the result of posting it, your practice answers and your voice examples.
- Public chat: messages visitors send to a creator’s Minnya chat and the answers given. Visitors are identified only by a random token stored in their browser, which we keep in hashed form. To limit abuse we also keep a hashed form of the visitor’s network address.
- Usage: AI uses, model token counts, storage used and transcription minutes, so we can apply plan limits.
- Technical data: our hosting providers process IP addresses and request details in their logs to deliver and secure the service.
How we use it
- To provide Minnya: syncing comments, preparing drafts, answering chat questions, grouping chat topics into anonymous insights and posting the replies you approve.
- To apply plan allowances and storage limits, and to prevent abuse and fraud.
- To keep the service secure, fix problems and support you when you contact us.
We rely on the performance of our contract with you to provide the service, and on our legitimate interests to secure it, prevent abuse and serve public chat visitors. We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Creators see only anonymous, aggregated themes from their public chat, never visitors’ transcripts. Preview chats in the app are not used for insights.
AI processing
To prepare a draft or answer a question, we send the relevant comment or message, passages from the creator’s content, guidance and voice examples to OpenAI. We also use OpenAI to index content for search, transcribe audio and video, and classify chat topics. OpenAI processes this on our behalf under its API terms, which do not allow it to use the data to train its models by default.
YouTube and Google
Minnya uses YouTube API Services. If you connect a YouTube channel, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and the Google Privacy Policy applies to Google’s handling of your data. Minnya’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We use YouTube data only to show you your comments, prepare replies, post the replies you approve, import the videos and past replies you select, and check whether comments are still available. You can disconnect YouTube in Minnya at any time, which also revokes our access, or remove Minnya from your Google Account permissions.
Who we share it with
We use these service providers, who process information on our behalf:

Replies you approve are published on YouTube, and answers in a public chat are shown to the visitor who asked. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
International transfers
Some of these providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses with the UK addendum.
How long we keep it
- Account and workspace data: until you delete your account.
- Public chat conversations: 90 days.
- Uploaded audio and video: deleted once transcribed.
- Uploads that are never added as content: deleted within a few hours.
- Past YouTube replies offered for import: one day, unless you import them.
When you delete your account, we disconnect YouTube, revoke our Google access and delete your workspace and everything in it, including uploaded files.
Cookies and browser storage
The app uses cookies set by Clerk to keep you signed in, and your browser’s storage for interface preferences and, on public chat pages, the anonymous chat token. These are needed for the service to work. minnya.com and try.minnya.com set no cookies and use no analytics.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your information, or object to or restrict how we use it. Email privacy@minnya.com. If you’re unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Children
Minnya is not directed at children under 13, and creator accounts are for adults.
Changes
We’ll update this page when our practices change and tell account holders about significant changes by email or in the app.
